Test Cricket is a game of exultant victories and heartbreaking losses. A game of glorious uncertainties is how the grand old commentators liked to address it. Yesterday at Dominica, when going into the last session of this test match, it was all but assured that it's Pakistan's game to lose control of and Pakistan shed any such notions off by taking one crucial wicket only in the third over after resumption. It was going to be their first series victory on Caribbean soil which even the greats like Javed Miandad and Imran Khan couldn't achieve. A perfect send-off to two of their greatest warhorses of recent times. But WIndies didn't buckle under pressure and their three tailenders played down 99 extremely testing deliveries to provide more than able support to their master anchor Roston Chase who completed his 2nd century in his 10th test match and was on the move to save 2nd test match singlehandedly for his side. He has already become the beacon of Hope for West Indies Test Side going forward and I for one have great expectations of him. So WIndies scratched and scrapped hard and it was only 7 balls remaining to earn a most unlikely draw but that's when Cricketing Gods turned their eyes off them and gave Pakistan their most heart-stopping win. It was richly deserved nonetheless because Pakistan dominated this test match from 3rd day onwards and had the upper hand. The fact that Roston Chase and Co, a young and spirited WIndies test side, didn't cave in to this insurmountable pressure, has what made this test match and ending extra special. In the midst of euphoria created by the departure of Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan, it was WIndies who shown brightly in the fading lights of Dominica. God only knows how desperately we need both West Indies and Pakistan to deliver in upcoming times.............#WindiesFights.......#MisYou......#TestCricketRules
Friendship is an aspect of life that’s not controlled by its beholders. Ideal friendships, well they are the things of past now. Many a times we have seen our parents or their parents talking about their old great friends and how amusingly they tell us about their bonding, the moments they spent together and we see a ‘priceless’ twinkle in their eyes…..that’s something which is missing from modern friendships. There are terms & phrases like ‘yaar tu to apna bhai hai’, ‘yaar tu to ghar ka aadmi hai’ which even today invoke something very beautiful inside our hearts but we all know that the feelings underneath them are ‘hollow’, they are just mere words, ‘emotionless’ and ‘impassive’. Well who am I to comment on such an indefinable ‘qualitative’ perspective? I’m one of you, those wretched creatures that are still in need of true, great friendships. Well I certainly can’t say that I haven’t got friends. I’ve got friends, plenty of them in fact, and some of them are real great. I s...
