I have been following American TV Series 'Lost' as of late. Couple of weeks ago, I was down with two seasons and wasn't really sure whether I should go ahead with rest of the seasons. There are six in total. So I asked my friends for an opinion. Popular notion wasn't really favorable and opined on a 'no go ahead' signal. I didn't coincide with it for I always thought there was enough to 'Lost' that meets the eye and now when I'm done with two more seasons, I'm glad that I made a good decision. Lost is awesome in most truthful of literary senses.
And so are its cast members. John Locke, James Sawyer, Jack Shepherd, Sayid Jarrah, Charlie pace, Hugo Reyes and Kate were the series regulars and terrific from the beginning. In came season 2 and I was introduced to characters of Mr. Eko, Ana Lucia, Henry Gale aka Benjamin Linus and Desmond Hume. They outdid the regulars in their guest star roles. However, the season 2 finale left me aghast for it ended in a cliffhanger and for then, I knew 'Lost' was some sort of time-travel saga. I never jumped on to series conclusion on either Wiki or Google for that would have been a serious disrespect to unarguably one of the most critically acclaimed TV series in Network Television History of USA. Lost unlike the other popular American Television Series was questionably long at 26 episodes so it was time consuming plus Benjamin Linus' face and never ending manipulations, not to say lies, were getting unbearable for me. I decided to give it a break then and took an opinion poll.
Break ended. Clouds of suspicion paved way for sure-shot clarity. Season 3 and 4 were lauded for their gripping narrative and never ending suspense according to Wiki (checked only reception portion) and then I went ahead with them. What followed next shall stand neck and above the previous two seasons because of two Lost characters: Desmond Hume and Benjamin Linus. A show that has already been headlined and scorched by acting talents of Terry O' Quinn (John Locke) presence got a new showstopper in character of Desmond. Desmond and Charlie played heroic characters while Benjamin and John remained 'supremely ambiguous' characters. Frankly speaking, all the LOST characters will seem to you suspicious and ambiguous in first viewing but after you invest some time in this brilliantly conceptualized TV series, you will be able to make confident, safer guesses. Chemistry of Desmond and Charlie stole the show for Season 3 while the season finale 'Through the Looking Glass' was later adjudged one of the greatest Television hours of American TV History.
Going further, episode 3 of season 4: The Constant. No adjective can do justice to the writing and acting of this episode. One viewing of it and anyone would know that they have just witnessed something special. Like 'Through the Looking Glass', 'The Constant' drew unprecedented critical acclaim. Henry Ian Cusick portraying Desmond in this series went on to win a Primetime Emmy for his sublime performance. And so did Terry O' Quinn (John Locke) and Michael Erasmus (Benjamin Linus). Everything fell in place for me with viewing of season 3 and 4.
And having said that, I am good to go for final two seasons of 'Lost'. If I get to see anything more spectacular, heart-wrenching and awe-inspiring than 'Through the Looking Glass' and 'The Constant', I shall definitely report back to you...........#Lost......#JohnLocke.....#DesmondHume.......#BenjaminLinus.......#MrEko.......#Awesome.....#NakedEmotions
