अब कौन दोषी?

कुछ लोग सुधारे ही नहीं जा सकते मतलब। ऑस्ट्रेलियाई क्रिकेट बोर्ड ने वार्नर, स्मिथ और Bancroft को घर भेज दिया जबकि कोच लेहमैन, बॉलर तिकड़ी नाथन लॉयन, स्टार्क और हैजलवुड पाक साफ करार दिए गए। पूरे दिन विश्व मीडिया झख मारती रह गयी इस अनुमान के आस पास कि लेहमैन के दिन (या घंटे) गिनती के रह गए हैं और यह परिणाम निकला।

मैं अब ज्यादा दुःखी हूँ क्योंकि Bancroft और स्मिथ के अंदर इतनी तो हिम्मत थी कि सबके सामने आकर अपनी गलती कुबूली और गर्दन कटवा दी। नाम तक नहीं लिया उन सबका जो इन सबमें उनके साथ थे। अब कौन बड़ा गैरत वाला निकला? क्या जो बच गए, वो चैन से रह पाएंगे? कोई ना कोई फूटेगा और फिर इन सबको ले बीतेगा।


यह ऑस्ट्रेलियाई क्रिकेट प्रशासकों के पास एक बेहतरीन मौका था कि वो अपनी क्रिकेट को साफ सुथरा कर सकें। लेहमैन जैसा व्यक्ति जो ज़िन्दगी भर लोगों के लिए अपने मन में नफरत भरता रहा, अभी भी कोच पद पर बैठा है और अब बड़ी शान से। कम से कम इन प्रशासको को उन सभी आरोपी खिलाड़ियों को टीम से बाहर कर देना चाहिए था कुछ समय तक और अच्छे से जांच पड़ताल करके अंतिम निर्णय लेना चाहिए था। ये कौन सा उदाहरण प्रस्तुत किये हैं अपने देश के सामने, भगवान ही जाने। सच कहूँ तो इन सबने स्मिथ से ज्यादे भद्द पिटवा दी ऑस्ट्रेलिया की पूरी क्रिकेट बिरादरी के सामने।

बेहद निराशाजनक!!!

BBC's India's Daughter: An Indian Response

I assume you all have watched BBC's Documentary on Nirbhaya a.k.a Jyoti Singh (I don't know whether I'm legally entitled to speak up her name publicly in India or not, but let's take the risk). It goes by the name 'India's Daughter' in India, but at the same time, it's banned here. Though it was released way back on 4th March and I downloaded it right away on the very next day for my relatives but only yesterday, I got to watch it and that's only because Meryl Streep vouched for it for an elusive 'Oscars Nomination'. That's not to say that I was skeptical of its content or plot but somewhere I was afraid that I couldn't quite grasp its central idea. So let me tell you that if you are a parent or a certain male chauvinist, you can certainly do away with a strong stomach for it will certainly test your strength of character. This is an appreciation post for Oscars Best Feature Film Nominee, the number 7th, Room (2016). Every once in a while in English-speaking world, a courageous director comes up with an audacious project that blows your mind away and you just couldn't fathom what you really experienced.
